National Police Certificate (NPC) or Police Check?
A National Police Certificate lists a person’s disclosable court outcomes from all Australian police jurisdictions based on the information provided.
A police check conducted by Backy Check is a National Police Certificate (NPC) and it is based on a search of the person’s name against the criminal history records held by police services Australia-wide, including Queensland.
This document is used for employment, study, licencing, probity, rent or for any personal purpose. Please check with your employment or licencing body or real estate to ensure an National Police Certificate (NPC) is appropriate.
Is a police check result valid for multiple reasons or jobs?
No, a police check is not suitable for reuse for multiple purposes. For example a police check conducted for the purpose of becoming a volunteer in a charity event cannot be used later to apply for a nurse job in an aged care. This is because the purpose identified on the police check application may be used to determine which information is disclosed in the police check report.
How long are police checks valid for in QLD?
A police check is considered a ‘point in time’ check. This means an applicant can receive a no disclosable court outcome (NDCO) result one day, and then be charged or convicted of a crime the following day. Charges or convictions that occur after the police check result has been issued are not captured on the applicant’s existing police check, deeming the result unsuitable for reuse.
All our police checks are valid and available Australia-wide.
